How to connect Google Search Console and choose an account
To connect your Google Search Console account to Backona AI, follow these steps:
1. Grant access during sign-in
When you first signed in to Backona AI with your Google account, you were asked to grant access to your Google Search Console data. If you accepted, Backona AI should already have access.
2. Go to Settings
-
Open Backona AI and click on Settings from the main dashboard.
3. Check the Google Search Console section
-
You'll see a dropdown menu labeled Google Search Console.
-
Click the dropdown and choose the website URL (property) you want to analyze.
-
If your property appears, you're good to go.
4. Make sure the integration is enabled
-
After selecting the website, ensure that the integration toggle or checkbox is enabled.
-
This tells Backona AI to actively use your Google Search Console data for insights.
5. If you don’t see your site listed
You might not have completed the permission step. In that case:
-
You’ll see a blue message with a Provide permissions button.
-
Click Provide permissions and follow the prompts from Google carefully.
-
Make sure to approve access to the correct Google account and all requested permissions.
6. Still not working?
Here are a few things to check:
-
Make sure your Google account has access to the Google Search Console property.
-
You must have at least read-only (Viewer) access to the site in Google Search Console.
-
If you don’t see anything in the dropdown, your account might not have access, or the Google Search Console property may not be set up yet.
Once everything is connected and enabled, you can go to the chat and start asking questions about your website data.
