Once you’ve signed in with your Google account and granted permissions, there are a few steps to configure your data sources in Backona AI.
First, set two basic configuration values:
1. Website configuration name
This is a custom label you create to help identify the data source you're analyzing in Backona AI. For example: Client A - Blog or Ecommerce Main Site. It’s used only inside Backona.
2. Website URL
Enter the full URL of the website you want to analyze. This helps Backona AI understand what site it’s working with and label insights accordingly.
Then, connect your Google data sources:
3. Select a Google Analytics account
If you’re using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), you might have access to multiple accounts.
-
From the Account dropdown, choose the correct account that contains the GA4 property you want to analyze.
4. Select a GA4 or Google Search Console property
-
In GA4, you’ll select a Property linked to your site.
-
In Google Search Console, there’s no account layer—only a list of properties. Choose the correct one.
You can switch between properties anytime in Settings to analyze different websites or clients.
Can’t see your accounts or properties?
If nothing appears in the dropdowns, it could mean:
-
Your Google account doesn’t have access to the property.
-
The GA4 or Search Console property isn’t set up or has no data.
-
You didn’t grant the necessary permissions during sign-in.
To troubleshoot:
-
Double-check that you're signed in with the correct Google account.
-
Visit Google Analytics or Google Search Console to confirm access.
-
Use the Provide permissions button in Backona to reconnect and approve access if needed.
